What is your service area?

With remote support, we can service you anywhere. Our main service area for on-site service is Rochester, New York and the surrounding areas. We do also have clients in Buffalo, Syracuse and Capital Region.

What do you charge for your service?

Data Management, Backup, & Recovery

One of the most important things you can do is backup your data. This is true for both business and residential clients. MKCS has custom backup solutions and we will work with you to determine what is the best solution for you!

What can you backup?

Simple answer is everything. We can backup your entire server, workstations, NAS drives, Email, Sharepoint, OneDrive and more. We have a variety of solutions to meet your needs. We will work with you to determine what is best for you!

Should I test my backups and if so, how often?

Absolutely you should test your backups. In fact, we build that into our pricing, we test it for you! Let’s be honest, clients do not have time to run a restore and then check the backup. Leave it to us.

Email Solutions and Management

Why do I need email management?

Whether you are a small or large business, email management is a critical function. You use email daily. You want to make sure it is up and running and that someone is taking care of it for you. That is what we do. We help you add/delete users, change passwords, keep it secure, setup Encrypted Email and much more.

Isn't my email already being backed up?

According to Microsoft itself, they recommend you get a 3rd party to backup your emails. They will only store up to 30 days of emails. Email is critical to your business. We treat it that way and make sure it is backed up so when you need it, it will be there.

What email companies do you support?

We specialize on the Microsoft 365 platform. We continually train in order to properly service our clients. We can also assist clients with Google Workspace.

Network Assessment

MKCS can make sure your network infrastructure can handle the day to day workload that you and your team put it through. Your network is the backbone of your technology and we make sure it keeps running so you can keep on working!

What is included in a network assessment?

Your network infrastructure is one of the most overlooked parts of your IT. As your need for speed increases and as you add computers/employees to your network you need to make sure it can handle it. We can analyze your router/firewall, switches, wireless access points and other devices to make sure it can handle the traffic you are throwing at it.

What about my network cabling?

MKCS can check your current cabling and verifiy it can support your current and future needs. If cabling needs to be replaced, we can make recommendations. We have teamed up with other companies to provide expect cabling installation.

Can you manage my network as well as computers,email, etc.?

Yes we can. We can monitor all your switches, access points, routers, firewalls and other devices to make sure they are online and working properly.

Software Installation

One of our core services is helping customers with their Line of Business (LOB) software. This includes accounting, manufacturing, CRM and a variety of others. Our job is to make sure the software is installed properly by working directly with the software vendors so you do not have to.

What type of software support can you offer?

This depends on the software. Our clients use a variety of software from Quickbooks to Salesforce to very industry specific software. Our clients utilize us to work with the software vendors to install, setup as well as troubleshoot their software. We highly recommend you keep a current service contract with your software vendors.

Can you backup our critical software data?

Of course! MKCS can backup entire servers, virtual machines, workstations, SharePoint, OneDrive and more. If you are using specific cloud based software it may not be possible to back it up but the vendor should. We will find that out for you to make sure your data is protected.

Can you help us troubleshoot software issues?

Yes, we can certainly help.We can work with your software vendors to find solutions to your issues, update software or anything else needed.

Hardware Upgrades / Computer Installation

Another core service of ours is hardware upgrades or new computer installations. We work with Dell, HP and Lenovo to find you the best computers to fit your needs. This includes laptops, desktops and servers.

My computer is running slow. What can I do?

It can be slow for a variety of issues. We can perform a diagnostic to see if we can speed it up. You might have bad hardware such as memory or hard drive. We can check your system and let you know all your options.

Do you sell computers?

Yes. We sell laptops, desktops, servers, monitors, printers and just about anything else you can think of. MKCS can provide you with a quote.

Can I update my computer?

MKCS can analyze your laptop or desktop computer and determine what upgrades you can do. Typically with a laptop you can upgrade the hard drive and memory. You have more flexibility to upgrade a desktop computer.

Data Wipe / PC Disposal / Recycle

MKCS likes to do its part to keep your data safe when you dispose of an old computer. MKCS can wipe the data from your computer so that it can never be recovered. If you do not want the computer back, we dispose of the computer through a local recycling center.

What devices can you wipe?

We can wipe a variety of hard drives including servers, SSD, HDD, flash drives and more. Call us to discuss your options.

How do you wipe the drives? I want to make sure my data is gone.

We utilize softare that performs a read/write of the drive seven times to make sure data cannot be recovered. In addition, we can destroy the physical hard drive. We can provide you with a certificate of destruction after it is wiped/destroyed.

How do you recycle my computer after it is wiped?

We have a local recycling company where we drop off the hardware. Once a year they do a fundraiser to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times. We have been donating recycled hardware to this cause for the past seven years.

Data Recovery Services

Sometimes things happen. If you lose access to your data, MKCS can help. We use a variety of methods to recover your data. We have also teamed up with a national data recovery service if the job is beyond our capabilities.

What kind of devices can you recover from?

We specialize in recovering data from multiple devices including hard drives both internal and external, RAID, camera cards and much more.

How much does it cost to recover the data?

Cost depends on what the device is, the technical issue with it and the amount of data. A custom quote will be provided to you after speaking with you and learning of your issue.

MKCS prides itself on offering fast support. We can do this through our remote support solution. This allows us fix things quicker and bill less!

Need a network printer installed? We can help. MKCS can install your multi-function printer, setup scan to folder and scan to email and install print drivers on all devices.
